高速光接收机中低温漂基准电压源设计

Design of Low Temperature Coefficient Voltage Reference for High Speed Optical Receivers

摘要: 高速光接收芯片的片上电源稳定性至关重要,片上电源管理单元(PMU,Power Management Unit)为各子模块提供稳定的供电,低温漂带隙基准电压源是PMU设计中的核心模块。提出一种用于高速光接收芯片的低温漂带隙基准电压源的设计。为克服随机失调对基准电压温度系数的影响,在运放设计中采用了OOS(输出失调存储,Output Offset Storage)技术,通过采保电路存储输出失调电压,并对应产生失调电流补偿输出失调电流,有效降低了不同PVT情况下的失调电压。采用0.18 μm CMOS工艺进行设计,仿真结果表明,在运放输入端的初始失调电压为7 mV时,输入失调电压可被降低到0.1 mV以下。量产测试结果显示,温度系数最高为20.5×10-6/℃,不修调精度0.8%以内,输出纹波电压最大为88 μV,满足了高速光接收芯片的稳定性要求。

Abstract: Stable on-chip power supply is critical for high speed optical receivers.Therefore,power management unit(PMU)is designed to generate multiple stable power supplies for blocks.Bandgap voltage reference with low temperature coefficient(TC)is the key block for PMU.A voltage reference with low temperature coefficient for high speed optical receivers is proposed in the paper.In order to eliminate derivation caused by random offset,output offset storage(OSS)technique is adopted in this paper.The output offset voltage is sampled and held by S/H circuit,and offset current is then generated to compensate the output offset current of the main amplifier.Consequently,the offset voltage is canceled under variable PVT conditions.The voltage reference proposed in the paper is designed and fabricated by 0.18 μm CMOS process.Simulation results show that the input offset voltage can be reduced from 7 mV to 0.1 mV.Mass production results show that the maximum TCis20.5×10-6/℃,with88μV ripple voltage,which is suitable for high speed optical receiver.
